Trial Lessons the ultimate gift for only £75

Trial Lessons can be taken all year round. In the winter months (November to March) you can fly on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, taking your turn in the queue, with others wishing to fly. In the summer months (April to October) Friday is a dedicated Trial Lesson Day, however, this would be on a first-come-first-served basis. Trial Lessons can be taken on other days in the summer, but again you would have to take your turn on the flying list. Please check with the office or our Events Calendar to avoid disappointment.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to soar in silence high above everyone else, riding the air currents, perhaps for hundreds of miles across country, or to perform a graceful aerobatic routine?

Flying a glider is the way to do it, and the cost is surprisingly reasonable.

The best way to start is with a trial lesson conducted by one of our instructors in a two seater glider. After a ground briefing you will be aerotowed to 2,500 feet, then the instructor will explain the action of the controls and guide you through some simple manoeuvres for a flight lasting approximately 20 - 30 minutes.

Experience the thrill and beauty of soaring flight over the South Downs! Trial lessons start from £75.  Become a member and pay only £21 per hour aircraft hire and from £6.25 for launching. Instruction is free to club members in a sociable club atmosphere.

If you prefer, you will be welcome to come along and have a look round the club first. Subject to availability, and weather permitting, you can book and pay for a flight on the day. We accept cash or cheque supported by a cheque card. Because we are very weather dependent and do not fly in rain or excessive wind, we do not pre-book trial lesson times, do come early to get your name on the flying list or call the club early on the day to check availability of Trial Lessons.

Your second Trial Lesson will only cost £65.
